ANALISYS OF STATE AND PROSPECTS OF USING SECONDARY ENERGY RESOURCES IN HEAT AND POWER ENGINEERING OF UKRAINE

In the last period the energy saving, as it is known, is the main focus of the global power industry.

In Ukraine, for the near term energy saving measures related to the use of secondary energy resources (SER) are actual, because they are low-cost and belong to the fast ways improving of efficiency in the use of primary energy resources.

Data on the structure and volume of output SER, their actual production and the level of the use are presented in this paper. The features of the application of different types of secondary energy resources, namely, fuel, heat and pressure SER (mechanical) are considered. The condition of the use of SER in the power sector of Ukraine is analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the utilization of heat SER and at first the use of low-grade heat waste of technology and energy systems. The environmental aspects of the utilization of SER are analyzed. The most important developments of the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine related to the creation of high-tech using of different types of secondary energy resources and associated equipment for the implementation of these technologies are considered.

According to statistical reports share of heat SER is largest in the total annual output, then fuel, and the share of pressure SER is smallest. The main share in the output of fuel SER belong for ferrous metal industry .

The main part of the heat SER are low-potential heat SER at temperatures below 200oC. In the period from 2005 till 2010 the part of low-grade heat SER was about half the output of all kinds of SER. It is noted that among the industries with the high potential of heat SER are chemical and petrochemical industries, as well as ferrous metal industry.

The article also focused on the fact that the utilization of low-potential heat SER until recently has been neglected because it was believed that it is economically inefficient. It is noted that the difficulties in utilization of this heat SER type relates to their large variety of temperature, mode of delivery , physical and chemical properties of the media , etc.

Some attention was paid to prognoses of output and the use of SER, which was carried out by considering the complex source of technical, technological and energy factors in order to estimate the appropriate parameters and intervals of change in the forecast period. According to estimates which has been done application of heat pumps will influence on increasing the utilization of low-grade heat significantly.
