Due to the development of production in the direction of energy saving a search for the most efficient technological processes is very important. By now the electromagnetic heating and melting is one of the most effective methods for conducting material processing and production. In the context of great spread of the induction heating process today in metallurgical industry and great energy consumption of such production it is a good topic for investigation for ways of energy-saving and improving a quality of metal as a final product. At the moment the world trend in the area of energy-saving and intensification of technological processes is using of non-steady processes, with periodic energy sources. That gives effect of rising process efficiency at the forcing time and effect of energy saving due to absence of external forces at the next time step, when inertia effects dominate. Computer modeling, which is widely used at the present time, allows to study parameters of induction equipment before it is built and to improve energy efficiency of melting and solidification processes. The aim of investigation is to study physical parameters of velocity oscillations in the melt flow and to predict velocity and temperature fields in the real induction facilities using mathematical modeling. Novelty of planned project is in use of low-frequency pulsation of EM force with different coefficients of asymmetry, which influence on hydrodynamics in melt wasn’t investigated in 3 Dimensional simulations. The melt flow will be simulated in inductive furnace which has cylindrical shape with several loops of inductors around it. It is notable that electromagnetic vibration can significantly refine solidified microstructure. The microstructure can be refined by the electromagnetic field applied in the solidification process. Because of quantity of motion increase in furnace under the influence of pulsed magnetic field which might lead to more homogeneous spread of grains in melt and as consequence more homogeneous structure after solidification and the rising of quality of metal as a final product is expected. The positive effect in melting process is expected also because of additional mixing of layers with different temperature in melts volume, which gives effect of uniform temperature distribution in melt. |
