Abstracts:
The experimental results are presented in this paper concerning burning characteristics of n-octadecane and n-docosane droplets in air. It is found that burning rate constant (Kbur) of octadecane is about 50% greater than Kbur of docosane. Combustion of two droplets system is studied in details. Conditions of flame propagation from burning droplet to neighbor one are defined for vertical and horizontal dispositions of droplets. Ignition delay time, burning time and flame height are measured. The maximum inter-droplet spacing is defined when flame propagation is still possible. |
