MATHEMATICAL MODELING OF THE FIXED-BED SOLID FUELS GASIFICATION WITH SECONDARY AIR SUPPLY

Abstracts:

Numerical investigation of secondary air supply parameters (supply point and mass flow) influence on downdraft gasification process is performed in this paper. Calculations are made for coal char (97% of carbon) and woody biomass (49.5% of carbon on organic mass). Results show that determining factor in the case of coal char gasification is stability of one combustion front mode. In the case of biomass gasification conversion efficiency is determined by tarry compounds oxidation degree. Boundaries of the results application area is discussed.
