Abstracts:

In this paper, the mechanism of air-cooling metallic cylindrical billets is investigated with help of mathematical model at an air-flow rate from 5 to 20 thousand m3/h in chamber furnace. The solution of the differential equation of unsteady heat conduction is incorporated at the core of the mathematical model. Special feature of this mathematical model is accounting of different lining layout, which consists of two parts: a dense chamotte and ceramic yarn. Influence of airflow rate on the value of the convective component in a total amount of exhaust heat from the metal is shown. Percentage of convective component in a total amount of exhaust heat is in the range of 10-30% depending on the flow rate of cooling air is established.
