Abstracts:

This work presents the results of numerical calculation of velocity field during liquid outflow from flooded cylindrical tube. It was shown that at the tubes end at the edge the local liquid velocity is several times more than the velocity at the tube’s axis. The local velocity is increased approximately by the power law with decreasing of the curvature radius of outcome of the tube, at that the threshold value of formation of cavitational vortex ring exists.
The experimental verification of the results of calculation using flooded cylindrical tube with diameter 30 mm, length 50 – 100 mm was carried out. Throwing of water was performed by explosion of propane-oxygen mixtures. It was shown that at the edge of the tube cavitational vortex ring (CVR) is formed at local velocities of liquid more than 14 m/s, at that the increase of curvature radius of outflow face allows absolutely avoid CVR formation.
