This work deals with experimental investigation of hydrodynamic processes occurring at injection of cryogenic liquid into water. The importance of this problem is caused by the possibility of results application for gas hydrate production on the basis of the shock-wave method. Liquid nitrogen was injected by means of a specially developed device. It is shown that amplitude of pressure jumps occurring during this process is from 1.4 to 5.3 MPa. The pressure depends on a change in different injection conditions such as the working medium temperature, free surface volume, etc. The process was visualized by means of high-speed video recording. The pressure jumps distinguished during investigation can be sufficient for possible gas hydrate formation at application of liquid nitrogen as the injected cryogenic liquid.
