Abstracts:

Experiments to obtain current-voltage characteristics and parameters of a spherically symmetric gas discharge in a different polarity were carried out. For stable glowing at negative polarity the sizes of the central electrode were considerably increased. In the experiments solid metal electrode was used – the entire surface of the electrode, and a hollow spherical electrode consisting of several metal rings (spherical mesh). Found that changing the size of the central electrode is greatly altered the characteristics of the discharge - by increasing the diameter of the stratification in the glow discharge occurred at higher currents.
