Abstracts:

The aim of the paper is to study the patterns of unsteady heat transfer in swirling impact jet located both in natural conditions and in terms of the external periodic perturbation, and a study of the effect of different swirl number (S = 0-1) and the frequency of the external forcing flow (Sh = 0 - 1) on the heat transfer rate. In the paper, a series of experiments was conducted to investigate the axisymmetric jet impinging normally on a heated surface. The jet was in natural conditions, and at the outer swirling flow and periodically excited at different frequencies. It is shown that the heat transfer rate changes its character on the heated surface in a swirling jet and locally increases at low nozzle to plate distances with the introduction of flow swirling. External periodic oscillations at different frequencies have insignificant effect on the heat transfer at the swirling jet.
