TEMPERATURE INFLUENCE ON TRANSFORMATIONS OF ORGANIC SUBSTANCE OF BROWN COAL DURING MECHANICAL OPERATION OF COAL-WATER MIX

Abstracts:

The changes in the composition of organic part composing brown coal have been studied at mechanical treatment of coal-water mixtures at elevated temperatures (80 ÷ 200 °C). Mechanical treatment was performed at the facility AGO-2 in argon. To maintain the desired temperature during the experiment, we used the thermostat VT8-2 (coolant - siloxane oil). The presence of water was shown to intensify considerably the emission of gaseous hydrocarbons during mechanical treatment of coal at 80 - 200 °C. It was determined that at the mechanical treatment in the temperature range of 120 - 200 °C the process of methane conversion occurred. The mechanical treatment of the coal in the presence of water at temperatures of 160 and 200°C was shown to increase bitumoid yield. Mechanical treatment of the coal in the presence of water was accompanied by significant hydrocarbon conversions, such as degradation, oxidation and aromatization.
