Abstracts:

In the present work quasi-two dimensional turbulent jet structure in a slot channel was investigated by means of PIV and TomoPIV experimental methods. Instantaneous 3D velocity fields were obtained in the flow volume for bounded jet with nozzle aspect ratio 5:2. Three component velocity fields at the jet mixing layer allowed revealing the secondary flows, which represent two longitudinal vortexes with opposite vorticity sign. The secondary flow essentially depends on Reynolds number, and it can spread up to ten jet widths. To enhance accuracy of TomoPIV measurements the improved tomographic algorithm for tracer intensity volume distribution reconstruction was used with new SMART reconstruction scheme.
