Abstracts:

The basic modes of a flow of the launch vehicle with large nose fairing are considered on an example of four actual trajectories, thus special attention is given to modes at flight at large altitudes. Reynolds numbers and Mach numbers, changing with height, have been calculated on the basis of parameters of the given trajectories (time, velocity and height) and then, the modes of a flow of the launch vehicle have been determined in view of Tsien's diagram displaying separation into the basic areas of flow, in particular transition from the area of standard gas dynamics to the area of flow with sliding.
