Abstracts:

A heat flow from surface inside the carbon particle during its high temperature oxidation was studied numerically. The effect of the particle porosity and radial temperature non-uniformity on the heat transfer and oxidation kinetics was investigated in details. It was found that the surface temperature is high by 200 K theinternal one during particle ignition. This result was confirmed experimentally. At the moment of the particle extinction a temperature in the central point exceeds the surface one by 400 K. It was shown that the particlematter porosity effects greatly at pre-ignition stage. For example, two-fold increase of carbon porosity leads to60 percent reduction of the particle ignition delay time.
