Abstracts:

The results of experimental investigation of fouling intensity on heated smooth and rough surfaces are presented. As coolant water with hardness 3.6 mg-equiv/l was used. It was found that two dimensional roughness with pitch-to-height ratio (s/h) equal to 12.5 causes essential decrease of fouling intensity. In case of different s/h roughness effect decreases. Less effective was found also the surface with semi spherical craters. In case of smooth surface thickness of deposits increased towards downstream, and in the case of rough surface (s/h=12.5) the reverse result was obtained.
